At O’Brien Hyundai of Normal, we’re proud to offer some of the best deals on new and pre-owned Hyundai cars. We’ve been in the business for quite a while, and we never get tired of helping our customers find the best Hyundai offers available. Year after year, Hyundai continues to prove why it’s one of the top automakers in the world, so today, we want to share some trivia about the history of our brand which you might not know about.
1. The Secret Behind the Logo
When most people look at the Hyundai logo, they see a big “H.” However, the symbol is actually stylized to represent two people shaking hands – in this instance, a Hyundai dealer on one side and a happy customer on the other. The oval enclosing them is a reminder of Hyundai’s presence and reliability around the globe.
2. Fuel Cell Pioneers
Hyundai was the first to create a mass-marketed hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle. The Hyundai ix35, also known as the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell, has been available to the public in select areas of California since 2014. In October 2017, green Hyundai drivers rejoiced when they broke over three million miles driven in fuel cell vehicles to celebrate National Hydrogen Day. Each one of those miles were completely emissions-free, since hydrogen fuel cell technology provides power whose only byproduct is water. Hyundai continues to invest in this landmark technology and work towards a greener future for everyone.
2. Ready for Some Football?
In 2015, Hyundai became the NFL’s official car company sponsor, replacing General Motors. Whenever you watch an NFL game, you’re bound to see dozens of Hyundai commercials and logos on the field, solidifying Hyundai’s presence.
